Once again it is a pleasure for the Kaua'i Mokihana Festival board, Alexander & Baldwin Foundation, and the Hawai'i Tourism Authority, to announce the Annual Kaua'i Mokihana Festival's Composers Contest and Concert. 

This is the "mother event" of the Festival. It features original compositions by Kaua'i Composers who enter their music in 5 categories: 

• Hawaiian
• Contemporary Hawaiian
• Open
• Youth
• Professional

Here are some of the prizes. You must be present to win:

• COMPOSER'S AWARD (EACH CATEGORY)  Trophy-cash   

• PERFORMER'S AWARD - Trophy  

• NA PO'E AWARD - KUAI 720 - Trophy  

• GABRIEL I HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE AWARD - For Hawaiian Category-Trophy  

• HIGHEST SCORE - Carved Wooden Bowl

In undertaking this project, we hope that many of Kaua'i's talented people will be encouraged, inspired and motivated by using their creativity through the avenue of music. Five Categories are specifically for composers and musicians who are residents of KAUA'I COUNTY ONLY; professional or non-professional.

JUST A REMINDER:
Fill out entire application, sign at bottom and include entrance fee by the first Friday in August of the current festival year. Don't forget to include the lyrics and translation where applicable, and tape. Please mail application form, lyric sheet, translation, fee, and ready for radio tape to:
