HAVE READ THE RULES (below) AND AGREE THAT THE RADISSON KAUA`I BEACH RESORT, KAUA`I MOKIHANA FESTIVAL AND THE MIZ KAUA`I TITA PAGEANT ARE NOT IN ANY WAY REPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENTS, INURIES, ETC. THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE PARTICIPATING IN THE ABOVE MENTIONED EVENTS AND PRE-EVENT ACTIVITIES. VIDEO RELEASE: I hereby grant Kaua`i Mokihana Festival permission to photograph, audio and video record me during this event and pre-event activities for the purposes of promotion and education.
NOTE: If applicant has a photograph of themselves in “tita” activity, please consider submitting for promotional purposes.

General Rules:

  • Entrants to be judged on their skills in categories determined by event coordinators and judges, including: Hawaiian Pupu Preparation, Lei Making, Fish and Poi, Introduction of entrant, Naughty Hula, Conch-shell Blowing, and Final Promenade in costume

  • Entrants will participate in ticket sales and promotion of this event, as well as the creation and decoration of stage set.

  • Entrants shall double as Security Guards at the Hapa Haole Hula May Day event. Nah! Just Kidding.

  • Entrants shall participate in pre-pageant activities that will be shown via video and judged on the night of the pageant.

  • Entrants shall provide a Hawaiian Pupu dish prepared by each entrant for judging during the pageant.

  • Entrants shall provide a hand made lei of their own design for judging the evening of the pageant.

  • Entrants are responsible for music and introduction and required to find a sponsor for their costume and other props they may need (to exclude the fish and poi segment as well as the conch-shell blowing segment – KMF will provide these)

  • Entrants agree to attend all pre-pageant activities. (contact Pageant coordinator: Jodi Omo 246-5515 for additional updates)

Entrance fee: $50 – enclose check with application or contact event coordinator . Make check payable to Kaua`i Mokihana Festival.

Schedule of Pre-Pageant Activities:

  1. Meeting- Third Wednesday in February @ noon poolside at the Raddisson Kaua`i

  2. Video or Radio Interviews - TBA

  3. Rehearsal meetings every weekend in the month of April, TBA

  4. Friday, (Date of this Event is either last Friday in April or the Friday before May day)

  5. Meet @ Radisson 10 a.m. to decorate stage and do last rehearsal

  6. Call time that evening: 1600 hrs ( 4 p.m.)

Make-up and hairstylists will be on hand should any entrant choose to have their hair or make-up done for event. Call early for appointment.
