2005 Poster

The Theme for 2005 is the "Year of the Hawaiian Endangered Species"

The art drawings in this year's Kaua`i Mokihana Festival poster and note cards were created by students at two schools on the island of Kaua'i Kanuikapono Public Charter School and Ke Kula Ni'ihau O Kekaha.

Emphasizing Hawai`ian endangered species as theme, each student choose his or her own subject to research. Artists from the Garden Island Arts Council Van Go! Project worked with students to interpret the subject matter into images. Judges selected the best works with a focus on environmental education. Funds generated support the Malie Scholarship fund, dedicated to educational activities.

The poster winner is Raynella Dela Cruz, age 16 for Pua The Whale of Ke Kula Ni'ihau O Kekaha.
